You never know what lies beneath the smile.

It could be true happiness or horrible sadness.

This blog is just an insight to me and who I am.

Just another weekend with the Goblins!

It's late fall. Meaning time for the last camping trip.

Oh joy.

To be honest I tried for weeks to find a way out of it. And yet, I was still forced to go. By 10 Am Friday morning I was ready to go but seeing as we belong to the Hancock family, mom was not ready. I walked circles in my room until almost 5 o'clock when we could finally go. It was a long time, let me tell ya!

Mom let me drive the whole way down to Goblin's valley. It was almost a 5 hour drive, in darkness and driving a car I've never driven before. Let's just say it was an interesting drive at first! ;)

Steve, my uncle, had given us directions so we could find the campsite. The directions went like this: Turn right on Temple Mtn. Road. Drive about 15 minutes. Turn left at the mountain. Look for 'fingers' in the rock walls. We will be in the second one. (Picture above is the campsite)

Yup, good luck finding that at 10 at night! Mom and I didn't even try to look for them. So we stayed in a very nice motel! We met up with my Aunt Suzy and her son, Ben, and his son, Alyx and enjoyed a wonderful, warm night with beds and TV!

The next day we got up, got gas from a gas staion that was IN the mountain! It was awesome and Al almost died with happiness! Then we tried to find our family before they left for the all day hike. It took forever to find them! After a million dirt roads and turns, bends and almost getting lost in the middle of nowhere we found them. Well, we found the camp. They had already left for the hike. So we bolted to the head of the trail.

We got half way through and we found most of our family, they had turned back and were heading back to the camp. We said Hi, and continued to finish the hike. We had a great day playing, hiking and laughing at everything. When we hit a road block and decided to turn back we realized we had a problem. The area we were in was so tight we almost had to walk sideways and there were about 8 boys behind us. Hmmm.... so Ben and I are trying to think of a way around when we looked up and saw the boys had made a bridge! One we could walk under! They were laughing and high fiving eachother for the brilliant idea! And to be honest, it was! So we walked under the bridge of boys, I being in the back of my group. Just as I'm walking through one of the boys slipped and almost fell on me! I laughed and walked on! When we got to a large break and had room to stretch out my mom thought we should do the same and take some cool pics. Ben, Alyx and I climbed up the rock wall and made our own bridge. Just as we get settled for pic taking a group of boy scouts come our way. Oh no..... They had to walk under us and laughed at us. Fun fun. We got our pics and nearly ran the rest of the way out of there!

Mom and I then drove about a mile to the Valley of the Goblins and played! It really was a big playground! We then headed back to the campsite. It was horrible weather and it was only going to get worse! So we laughed at our family and their tents and headed home! I made mom drive this time! And before midnight we were home!!!! YAY!!! Turns out, some of my other family members left just after us! Having a nice warm shower and my own bed made me happier then ever!!! And now I'm home! Happy day! And, hopefully, no more camping until it gets warmer!

Mt. Kamakasi

Today Kaylee and I decided to go hiking. While running 2 days ago we were looking at the beautiful mountains that surround us and thought we should hike them. Today, we did! On the first mountain we tried, we soon found out that wasn't possible. Signs and dogs just didn't seem like a good idea. So we went to the next one and started up. The mountain was hard to climb up! We kept slipping on the rocks and Kaylee kept screaming as the grasshoppers jumped on her! It was hot and steep! But about after an hour of pushing our way through, we made it! It was so beautiful!!! I just couldn't get over the view!!! We sat on top, ate our Subway sandwiches, and talked away! Not long after a siren started going off in the direction of Spanish Fork. Kaylee and I stared at eachother in horror. This couldn't be good. But then we thought nothing of it. And just as we were calming down a little bit, planes started flying over! We were positive an attack was happening, and we were on a mountain! Just as we are about to pack up a bird decided to fly behind us and yet again, scare us half to death. I'm going to be honest, I was really freaking out!!!! Walking down was so much easier than going up! It took less than half the time and we didn't have to stop every few feet for a breath! But the down side, Kaylee and I aren't the best on our feet! ;) I think I did something to my ankle/leg area during one of the times I slipped. But oh well!! As we climbed down our mountain, now named Mt. Kamakasi, we decided we wanted to more. So we drove up Payson Canyon to the Grotto. It's a super easy hike and there is a trail so we thought we could do it pretty fast! It was super fun and beautiful! When we reached the turning point and were taking photos 2 kinda scary looking boys came up. They turned and left. We laughed to ourselves and started to hike back only to find those boys were BEHIND us! Yeah, we kinda freaked out! Like the scared little girls we are, we sat in the car and waited for them to get in their car and leave. They didn't. So we finally did, only to have them follow us down the canyon! We were so scared!!!! After we got out of the canyon they turned another road and we calmed down!

In conclusion: Kaylee and I have hiked a mountain and now ''own'' a it and we are freaking awesome!!!! :D :D :D

There is hope in this world!!!!

So today my mom and I were shopping and all day we have been talking about how guys just aren't romantic or sweet like they are in the books. We were debating on how we were going to change this when stopped at a light we see this cute guy crossing the street with hand picked wildflowers walking home from BYU!!!!!! My heart dropped! There IS hope for this world!!! My mom, being as awesome as always, screams "I'M FOLLOWING HIM!!!" and she starts to drive down the street after him! I started to laughing so hard I couldn't breathe! I told her we better leave him because this mystery girl of his is pretty dang lucky and I would feel pretty bad taking this awesome guy from her!
I can't believe I'm this happy to be proven so very wrong!
In conclusion, there is hope for this world and guys really can be sweet and romantic!!! :)

Catch up time!

So, yes. This is a new blog. I can't get into my old one so I'm starting over! YAY!!!!
Anyways!!
Yesterday was Sunday (which hopefully you all knew that!) and as always, it was family dinner. I'm not going to lie! I didn't want to go... it had been a long day and sitting at my Grandma's house did not sound like fun. But as soon as I got there my younger cousins wanted to play! Izy, who is 8, sat on my lap at the bar in the kitchen with Mari, now 5, and we played old games until it was time to eat! As always, I didn't win a single game! Izy beat Mari and I every time! Oh well. And Sophie, Little Miss Blonde, came to dinner with straight edge bangs and I swear that girls hair was darker then I've ever seen! She looked like a brand new girl! It was crazy! But after we all ate I took Izy, Sophie, Mari, and 'Nana out back to pick apples off Grandmas tree! I think we picked about 5 lbs of those tiny apples! The girls were having so much fun! I just couldn't stop smiling! But as Hancocks through-and-through, those girls needed more to do! I'm thinking how nice it would be to go inside, lay down in the middle of the floor and eat all the apples. But no. Izy and Mari ran into the 'woods' next to the house. There are about 15 pine trees planted pretty close together, making them 'The Woods'. Sophie climbed up in my arms and we headed in after the other 2 girls. Not long after we found them, jumped out and scared those silly little girls! We played this game until it was dark! And they still wanted to play!! But of course this time of year Witches and Ghouls are hiding outside so we finally headed inside. What a great day!!! Everyone is planning the Halloween party coming up, the camping trip and many birthdays! This is going to be the best month EVER!!!!!!
